Exploring Your Faith

There are so many ways to explore and discover faith. In addition to our regular worship, we meet in groups throughout the year to talk about our faith and explore new ideas.

On the Journey...together!

We have a monthly 'On the Journey' meeting which looks to explore questions of faith. This started with a group of confirmation candidates who, following their confirmation, said they would like a group where they could continue their journey with Jesus 'together'. The topics are set by the questions people ask. All are welcome to join.

The group meet every last Thursday of the month, normally at the Vicarage, 7.30 - 9.00pm

  • 25th June: Understanding everything there is to know about the bible!
  • 30th July: Making prayer into more than just words!
  • August: no meeting
  • 24th Sep: The costs of following Jesus!
  • 29th Oct: The Gifts of the Spirit!
  • 26th Nov: God's healing power!

These gatherings will give opportunity for, questions, learning, worship and prayer. Do join us... and bring cake or biscuits!!!

Guardians of Ancora

Guardians of Ancora is a world-class game developed by Scripture Union which is available now. It is a virtual world that 8 to 11-year-olds can enter: a place where they can explore the Bible, meet with Jesus and grow spiritually.

Children enter this virtual world as Guardians of the city called Ancora (meaning anchor) and their challenge is to find the Bible stories that have been lost.

Each player will accept a quest and that will unlock a Bible story they can play through. As they continue to play they will interact with more Bible stories and participate in activities that encourage them to reflect on God's Word, pray and respond. Find out more...

Lent Reflections

Two years ago we began to hold a series of Tuesday evening 'reflections' during Lent.

In 2014 we explored 'Questions Jesus asked' and looked at Jesus's questions of:

  • Who do you say that I am?
  • What do you want me to do for you?
  • Why do you call me Lord?
  • Why do you look at the speck in others eyes?
  • Why are you so afraid?
  • Why have you forsaken me?

In 2015 we took a different tack, asking the question 'WHY?'

  • Why should we read the Bible?
  • Why should we worship God?
  • Why should we pray?
  • Why should we ask for forgiveness?
  • Why does God allow suffering?
  • Why did Jesus have to die?

Plans are in place for 2016 when we will look a number of characters from the Old Testament, most of them flawed and probably not as 'holy' as we might think.

In addition to this, if you want to have a conversation about faith do get in contact.
